The Thundering Word: Herd’s Davis learning patience translates to performance

HUNTINGTON

He brings size, speed, strength and burst to the Herd running back spot, where the redshirt sophomore figures in a three-headed time share with juniors Hyleck Foster and Tony Pittman.

What Davis needs most, said first-year Herd running backs coach Pepe Pearson, is what the 6-foot-1, 210-pounder learned to have in his first two years on campus.

“He’s still working on his patience and then it’s about finishing runs,” Pearson said of Davis.

That “p” word … It’s what got Davis through 2014 and the 2015 season. He arrived at MU from Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Ga.
