IRVING, Tx. – Marshall forward Ashley Saintigene, a freshman from Lauderdale Lakes, Fla., has been named Conference USA Freshman of the Week once again, the league office announced Monday afternoon. It is the third C-USA weekly award in Saintigene’s freshman season, and the second consecutive award over the past two weeks.
The 6-2 post player had another outstanding week for the Thundering Herd, averaging 8.5 points, 8.5 rebounds (5.0 offensive) and 3.5 blocks, while shooting 50 percent (8-for-16) from the field, helping the Herd to a 2-0 start in C-USA. Her rebound and block totals were the most among C-USA freshmen in the past week.
