Marshall baseball’s Tyler Ratliff has been named the Louisville Slugger national player of the week by Collegiate Baseball.
The Virginia native has also been named the Conference USA co-hitter of the week, sharing the honor with Florida Atlantic’s C.J. Chatham. Ratliff is the first Marshall player to win the award since current Atlanta Braves’ right-hander Aaron Blair in 2013.
Ratliff went 9 for 18 with three home runs and 11 RBIs in games against Middle Tennessee and West Virginia.
The sophomore belted his first collegiate grand slam against the Mountaineers, marking his third game of the season with at least four RBIs.
