Marshall junior pitcher Jordan Dixon became the school’s all time leader in strikeouts, but it wasn’t enough as the Herd dropped a doubleheader on the road, losing to Wright State 13-5 and 5-2 Wednesday.
Dixon (16-13) set the mark in the third inning of the second game and now has 737 strikeouts, besting the previous mark of 731 by Andi Williamson (2011-2013).
In the first game, the Herd gave up runs in all five innings, including four each in the fourth and fifth. Elicia D’Orazio and Briana Daiss both had two RBIs for Marshall with Kaelynn Greene, Ali Burdette, and Samantha Loose all collecting two hits each.
