HUNTINGTON — When Rice’s Egor Koulechov shook loose for one last time at the 3-point line Thursday night, you could almost sense Marshall was doomed to a tough defeat.
With a swish of the net and a miss at the other end, that was the case, as the Owls sneaked out of Cam Henderson Center with an 89-88 victory. A crowd of 4,994 attended.
Koulechov finished with 22 points and 14 rebounds, hitting his fourth 3-pointer with 6.5 seconds left. Rice’s other star, Marcus Evans, drove into the lane and dished back to the Russian for the big shot.
