The Marshall University men’s basketball team defeated the University of Texas at El Paso Miners in the first round of the 2020 Conference USA Tournament in Frisco, Texas with a final score of 86-78.
The Herd improved to 17-15 (11-8 C-USA), and the Miners capped off its season with a 17-15 (8-11 C-USA) overall record.
“It was a good ball game. We knew it was going to be a good game,” Marshall Head Coach Dan D’Antoni said. “UTEP is a talented team and well-coached. We knew it was going to be a tough game. We made some mistakes at the end, but it was a good game.
