HUNTINGTON — Nobody on Louisville’s defense is going to win the Heisman Trophy, but somebody on that side may end up winning something.
In the meantime, the Cardinals’ defense is winning games, every bit as much as quarterback Lamar Jackson and the offensive machine is doing.
It’s not every day you talk about a defense that allowed just 10 points to the Florida State Seminoles. Twenty, technically, but the final 10 came in garbage time of Louisville’s jaw-dropping 63-20 rout last Saturday.
“They are extremely aggressive,” MU coach Doc Holliday said of the Louisville defenders. “They get after you, they don’t sit back, and they bring blitzes from all over the field.
