MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – It was another classic between Marshall University and West Virginia University in baseball — making one wonder why the two schools can’t get together in other sports and have this much fun.
After WVU won the first game in Charleston, an ugly 5-4 game with about eight errors (four on each team) over 10 innings, the Herd was hoping to get its first win in Morgantown since winning the second game of a doubleheaderin 1991. The rescheduled Wednesday evening game (after rain pushed the game back one day) was a roller coaster ride for both teams all evening in Morgantown, as WVU led 3-0, then the game was tied 3-3 and WVU got one more run in the sixth to lead, 4-3.
