HUNTINGTON — Fifty years after he played on one of Marshall’s most successful basketball teams, Dan D’Antoni has learned to be careful with his guarantees.
For one thing, he’s not going to put forth a goal with a set minimum number of victories.
“There are just no guarantees for that. In any year,” D’Antoni said Tuesday. “Whether you’re a returning champion with every player back, there are no guarantees you’re going back.
“I learned that in the NBA really quick. I think it was the first year I was there, I was coaching in the All-Star Game.
