HUNTINGTON — The plan for Terrence Thompson’s comeback didn’t necessarily include a 27-minute stint in his second game back.
But it happened last Saturday in Marshall’s 94-78 loss at Alabama-Birmingham, by necessity. When Ajdin Penava injured his ankle with a minute left in the first half, Thompson finished out that period and played 15 minutes of the second half.
Thompson’s stat line: 12 points, seven rebounds and a blocked shot. The scoring could have been better, as he made only 2 of 8 free throws.
He did sink two 3-pointers in four attempts, raising his career number to five made.
