Marshall's Stevie Browning named C-USA Player of the Week

For the first time in two decades, Marshall has pulled off back-to-back conference Players of the Week.

Stevie Browning was honored by Conference USA for his play last week in a victory over West Virginia Wesleyan and an overtime loss at Cincinnati. The Logan native scored 49 points in the two games.

With his assortment of long-range and mid-range shots from the lane, Browning was 19 of 32 from the floor and 9 of 12 from 3-point range. He made both of his free throws.

Browning followed Charleston’s Jon Elmore in being so honored. It was the first time the Herd had back-to-back honorees since Keith Veney and John Brannen in 1996-97, MU’s final season in the Southern Conference.
