Marshall’s Ryan Taylor named to C-USA All-Defensive Team

Marshall’s Ryan Taylor was named to the Conference USA All-Defensive Team, announced Tuesday.

The 6-foot-5, 249-pound senior from Indianapolis becomes the Herd’s fourth such honoree since 2007, when the league began that team. Dennis Tinnon was the last, in 2012.

Others are Mark Dorris (2008) and shot-swatter Hassan Whiteside (2010).

Taylor is fourth in the league in blocked shots (47 in 31 games, 1.7 average). He also is fourth in defensive rebounds, averaging 6.6.

He joins Defensive Player of the Year William Lee of Alabama-Birmingham, plus Louisiana Tech’s Jacobi Boykins, Middle Tennessee’s Reggie Upshaw and Old Dominion’s Denzell Taylor.
