Marshall’s Deon-Tay McManus skips final year for NFL draft

Marshall wide receiver Deon-Tay McManus, seen here in a 2016 game verus Akron, has decided to forgo his final season of eligibility and enter the NFL draft.

Wide receiver Deon-Tay McManus is becoming the second Marshall player in two seasons to leave a year early for the NFL draft.

And if the experience of cornerback Corey Tindal is an indicator, McManus faces long odds.

McManus is leaving MU following the Thundering Herd’s 3-9 season, an MU official confirmed Friday. He announced his intentions Thursday via Twitter, using an NFL draft logo in an action picture of him.
