HUNTINGTON — Marshall’s basketball team is trying hard to shake its three-game losing streak, but at least the coach can sleep.
Dan D’Antoni has often said something along these lines: If his Thundering Herd can play with high energy and rapid ball movement, he usually can live with the result.
Marshall (13-11, 6-5 Conference USA) lost twice on the road last week, but the 91-76 loss Thursday at Southern Mississippi was much different from the 94-90 loss Saturday to Louisiana Tech.
The margin and the quality of opposition are the obvious hints — Tech is an upper-echelon team in C-USA, while Southern Miss would be delighted to finish .
