HUNTINGTON — The large group of wide receivers brought in to bolster the passing game in 2015 has all but fizzled completely.
An MU official confirmed Monday that wide receiver Raylen Elzy has been dismissed because of team violations.
The 6-foot-4 sophomore from Lithonia, Georgia, finished his career with five receptions for 51 yards, with a long of 33. He had three of those catches this season, for 43 yards.
Elzy was part of a group of eight receivers from 2015 National Signing Day. The other signees were Reggie Rogers, Simino Walden, Latrell Nieves, Larry Dunnon, Keivonte Gallmon, Leron Carn and Reese Wooten.
