Marshall Women Roll Over Morgan State, 62-43

HUNTINGTON — Marshall women’s basketball returned to form after losing the first game of the year to Prairie View A&M last weekend, and unfortunately for Morgan State, they were the next team after that unexpected loss. The Bears came to Huntington and the Cam Henderson Center thinking they might catch the Herd still down, but a suffocating defense, good work on the boards and really getting hot from the 3-point line led Marshall to a 62-43 win, improving to 5-1 on the year and dropping MSU to 1-5.

Sophomore Khadaija Brooks and redshirt junior Taylor Porter led the Herd with 13 points each, a career-high for Brooks, and she was on fire shooting — hitting 4-of-6 from the field, 2-of-2 from three and 3-for-3 from the line.
