HUNTINGTON — The Marshall women, like the men’s team, has yet to lose a game at home. Then you add struggling FIU to the mix for the opening night of Conference USA play (for the 22nd year) at the Cam Henderson Center with the Thundering Herd and the result is predictable.
Just as you might have thought, the Herd mopped the floor with the Panthers in a 70-52 win. Marshall moves to 7-0 at home, 9-3 overall and 1-0 in C-USA play while FIU women fall to 2-10, 0-1 in league play, and the game would not have been as close as 18 points is the Herd had not been letting the clock run down from the 3:24 mark and holding a 28-point lead at that point.
