BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — For the first time since 2009, the Thundering Herd women’s basketball team is in the semifinals of the Conference USA Tournament in Birmingham, Ala., after topping the WKU Hilltoppers, 66-63, in the quarterfinals final game of the day.
After the No. 1 UTEP Miners beat No. 8 UAB in the first game of the day, No. 4 Charlotte was upset by No. 5 Old Dominion, 57-54 in game two. No. 2 Middle Tennessee had no problems with No. 10 Rice, 74-54, and the No. 6 Herd pulls the upset on the No. 3 Hilltoppers in the final game at UAB’s Bartow Arena.
