HUNTINGTON — The weather in Huntington on Saturday was unseasonably warm, reaching the 75-degree mark on Saturday, Dec. 12 — very unusual for this time of year in West Virginia.
But the weather was no hotter than Marshall junior Austin Loop as he hit 8-of-10 for a career best eight 3-point baskets and tied his career high with 26 points to lead the Thundering Herd to a 96-72 rout ofEastern Kentucky University on Saturday night at Cam Henderson Center.
The Herd won its second game in a row, after losing the first six games of the year, to improve to 2-6.
