HUNTINGTON – Marshall Softball did the unthinkable on Senior Day Saturday, May 6, the last day of the regular season. They lost at home, 11-8, in a win against the Blazers of UAB. The Herd’s five seniors and Coach Shonda Stanton righted the ship in game two, beating UAB 8-4 in the last game of the year.
Thanks to a loss on Friday evening, the Herd – who had already clinched the Conference USA East Division title – clinched the Conference USA Regular Season title. Marshall also grabbed one of the two byes for the Conference USA Softball Championships starting May 10 in Hattiesburg, Miss.
