HUNTINGTON — The dismissal last week of safety Tiquan Lang from the Marshall program took another returning starter from the defense, and took the only returning starter from the secondary.
When the Thundering Herd’s season finally gets under way on Sept. 10 against Morgan State, expect much to be made about the defense now returning only three starters. Those are ends Gary Thompson and Ryan Bee, plus linebacker Devontre’a Tyler.
The entire defense has a combined 37 career starts. The secondary has four, all by safety Kendall Gant.
For Gant, C.J. Reavis and Corey Neely, that’s no problem.
