Marshall rally comes up short in 112-106 loss at Pitt

Jamal Artis and Michael Young scored 30 points apiece as Pittsburgh used a 29-point lead to defeat Marshall 112-106 Saturday at Petersen Events Center.

The Thundering Herd (7-6) cut that lead to five points in the final minute, scoring 68 points in the second half. The Panthers (11-2) hit 7 of 8 free throws in that final minute to seal the issue.

C.J. Burks scored a career-high 25 points to lead the Herd in its final nonconference game. Stevie Browning added 22, Ryan Taylor 22 and John Elmore 19. Elmore and Taylor scored just two each in the first half, and Taylor played the final 19-plus minutes with four fouls.
