Marshall did not wait long, nor did it go far, to find its new women’s basketball coach. The Thundering Herd announced on Friday that Tony Kemper, the team’s associate head coach and a member of the staff the last five seasons, has been promoted to head coach.
Kemper replaces Matt Daniel, who resigned Sunday for family reasons. Daniel brought Kemper to Huntington five seasons ago.
“It is such a privilege to continue working with student-athletes who I have had a hand in recruiting to Huntington, a community that my family values greatly,” Kemper said in a university release.
