HUNTINGTON — It’s an offense that doesn’t necessarily have some high-falutin’ “identity.”
If, on a typical down and distance, a Marshall opponent loads up against the run, the ball’s going in the air. If said opponent cheats against the pass where the blockers outnumber the defenders in the “box,” here comes the ground game.
The play call may be a single call from offensive coordinator Bill Legg upstairs. Or, as quarterback Chase Litton gains more experience, Legg may send down “combo plays” giving Litton two or more options. That became more prevalent in the latter days of Rakeem Cato’s time at MU.
