HUNTINGTON — Marshall is still a struggling team any way you slice it, but the defense isn’t giving up 50 or 60 points a game.
The Thundering Herd’s dubious streak of giving up a touchdown drive to begin the game has stretched to five games, but the Herd is still hanging tough afterward.
Last weekend in the 24-14 loss at Southern Mississippi, the Herd yielded only three points from the 9:29 mark of the first quarter to the 12:08 mark in the fourth — a span of more than 42 minutes.
That effort didn’t go unnoticed by the Herd offense, which profusely apologized after the game.
