Marshall’s men’s soccer team defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks with a final score of 2-1.
Marshall came in looking to dominate like in their previous matchup against Eastern Illinois. Both teams were aggressive to start the game, with each side committing six fouls a piece.
The Gamecocks stood their ground early on as the Thundering Herd looked to control the pace of the game. Out of five shot attempts for Marshall in the first half, only one was on goal, presenting a score of 0-0 at half.
That quickly changed in the second half as Marshall forward Lewis Knight scored his seventh goal of the season coming off a nice assist from Carlos Diaz-Salcedo.
