HUNTINGTON — After fighting for 45 minutes to conquer Old Dominion, Marshall players needed a breather. But with fast-paced Charlotte coming to town for a 7 p.m. game Saturday at the Henderson Center, there isn’t much time for one.
The 49ers, coming off a tough 82-80 loss Thursday to Western Kentucky, aren’t Old Dominion. They’re more like, well, Marshall.
Thundering Herd fans may remember the teams’ scoring battle last January in Charlotte, a 103-95 MU loss in which the 49ers went 10 of 15 from 3-point range.
Charlotte (7-7, 1-2 Conference USA) shot similarly Thursday, hitting 8 of 13 treys in the first half and 11 of 20 for the game.
