HUNTINGTON — There are conflicting signals on the progress of Marshall’s next opponent, Texas-San Antonio.
The Roadrunners, in their fourth season in Conference USA, are 9-10 overall, already surpassing their win totals of 2013-14 (7-23) and 2015-16 (5-27). They are 4-2 in C-USA, good for fifth place, and handed Louisiana Tech its only league loss.
The other wins are dubious — Prairie View, Southeastern Oklahoma State, East Central and both of C-USA’s Florida schools among them. The Roadrunners’ last game was a 59-39 loss last week to Texas-El Paso, a team they had beaten a few weeks earlier.
