HUNTINGTON — Coming into Thursday’s game with Middle Tennessee, Marshall’s men knew it was going to be a big weekend with the team the Herd was tied with in second place — the Blue Raiders of Middle — on Thursday, followed by the team Marshall was tied with in first place over the first five Conference USA games of the year, UAB, in a nationally televised game on Saturday.
There was talk of the Herd had to bear down on Middle before even thinking about the 7-0 and undefeated Blazers game this weekend, or they might lose to the Blue Raiders and take the chance of playing for first place away from the game that was two days later.
