As far as the Conference USA standings picture goes, Marshall and Western Kentucky are in exactly the same boat.
They’re both 6-5 and in a five-way tie for fifth place, a half-game out of the top four. They both play twice at home next week, but those assignments are not easy — league leader Middle Tennessee and third-place Alabama-Birmingham.
So the stakes are inching upward heading into this MU-WKU bout at 6 p.m. Saturday at E.A. Diddle Arena in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The game will be televised on Fox College Sports Atlantic, Suddenlink 509 in the Kanawha Valley.
