Marshall linebacker Raheim Huskey, a key component in the Thundering Herd football team’s 2014 Conference USA championship win, has been dismissed from the team.
Herd coach Doc Holliday announced the move in a Monday-morning email, stating that Huskey was gone due to “a violation of team rules and policies.” The email did not elaborate on the rule violation and no further comment would be forthcoming.
Huskey, a redshirt junior, was suspended for violating team rules seven games into the 2015 season. He began that season as the backup middle linebacker to Devontre’a Tyler, but slid down the depth chart when Shawn Petty returned from injury.
