Ky’re “Booda” Allison is a typical recruit of Marshall basketball coach Dan D’Antoni — local roots, nimble, can handle the ball, pass and shoot it.
And perhaps underrated.
The commitment to Marshall by Allison, a 6-foot-2 combo guard from Portsmouth (Ohio) High School, was reported Thursday. The left-handed shooter scored 1,688 career points, surpassing the school record set by early 1980s Miami (Ohio) standout Craig Tubbs.
Allison is called a “way under the radar” guard who is playing in this weekend’s Ohio-Kentucky All-Star Game. His videos indicated that he can penetrate, pass off and shoot the 3-pointer — all pluses in D’Antoni’s frenetic system.
