Akron players celebrate after a Mykel Traylor-Bennett touchdown Saturday during the Zips win against Marshall in Huntington.
HUNTINGTON — A freshman cornerback can expect a full-blown baptism into college football, as every quarterback and offensive coordinator in the free world will direct passes his way.
But what Marshall’s Chris Jackson suffered was more akin to a drowning.
Jackson didn’t bear the full blame for pass defense troubles in the Zips’ 65-38 victory Saturday, but No. 3 was in the frame for a number of big catches.
Jerome Lane, Akron’s big, muscular wideout, was isolated on Jackson early, and the results weren’t pretty.
