HUNTINGTON — It’s homecoming day at Marshall, but there are no celebrations from those wearing football helmets.
It’s all business and then some on this Saturday evening. For the Thundering Herd and Florida Atlantic, there is an aura of focused desperation.
Both teams should be just as dialed in. In the case of the Owls (1-5, 0-2), they are almost leading Conference USA’s “race” to bowl ineligibility. (Hey to 0-6 Rice). They have much to prove with a five-game losing streak, the last three by a combined 11 points.
Marshall (1-4, 0-1) still controls its destiny in C-USA’s East Division race, but that seems like such a pipe dream in this month of misery.
