Marshall Falls 3-2 To Southern Miss in C-USA Semis

HATTIESBURG, Miss. — Marshall was oh, so close to beating Southern Miss for just the second time in 20 games at Pete Taylor Park, with 13 runners left on base and no earned runs giving up by the Herd’s starter Chase Boster (8-3) and four more senior relievers but in the end the Golden Eagles head to the Conference USA Championship game on Sunday after beating the Herd, 3-2, at Southern Miss’ Pete Taylor Park.

Marshall finishes the season 34-21 — the most wins in Marshall history, only the second team to hit 30 or more runs and the first winning season for the program since 1994 — finishes second in the league by 0.
