HUNTINGTON — Having exited another game with five fouls, Ryan Taylor watched his Marshall teammates sweat out another white-knuckle win at Cam Henderson Center, this one Thursday night against Old Dominion.
Taylor would have rather been on the court, but he was enjoying the drama nontheless. As coach Dan D’Antoni paced the sidelines, the pupil had a message for his mentor.
“I patted Coach Dan as Jon [Elmore] was shooting a free throw,” Taylor said. “I said, ‘Coach, calm down, this is fun.’ ”
The 90-86 overtime victory was fun for the Thundering Herd, but it was stressful for the coach and much of the 4,573 who came out on a snowy night.
