HUNTINGTON — Yes, Marshall ran, launched shots and dominated another Conference USA team Thursday at Cam Henderson Center. After four such home games, it has become a habit.
But the Thundering Herd is sailing in uncharted waters after dispatching Middle Tennessee 82-66. That emphatically broke a second-place tie in the league, with the Herd improving to 7-1.
And then, about an hour later, league leader Alabama-Birmingham saw its 14-game winning streak go down the hatch in a 69-62 loss at Western Kentucky. With that result, Marshall (11-10 overall) is now tied with the Blazers for the league lead with the teams colliding at lunchtime Saturday.
