Marshall and Conference USA released football schedules Thursday, and the Thundering Herd does not have to repeat its 2016 grind of 12 games in 12 weeks.
There is a bye on Sept. 23, preceding MU’s game at Cincinnati and the eight C-USA games. On Sept. 9, the Herd travels to North Carolina State, with both contests the start of a home-and-home series.
Marshall opens Sept. 2 at home against Miami (Ohio), and also faces Old Dominion, Florida International, Western Kentucky and Southern Mississippi in the season finale on Nov. 11. Texas-San Antonio is new on the Herd’s league schedule, with Marshall traveling to the Lone Star State on Nov.
