HUNTINGTON — Derric Jean fired a halfcourt shot for 3 points at the buzzer as Louisiana Tech defeated Marshall 97-94 Thursday night at Cam Henderson Center.
It was a fitting end to an entertaining, back-and-forth game that featured 10 lead changes and nine ties. Alex Hamilton scored a career-high 38 points to lead the Bulldogs (23-7, 12-5), which is tied for second place with Middle Tennessee in the Conference USA standings.
Marshall fell to 15-15, 11-6, and will play Southern Mississippi at 7 p.m. Saturday.
