HUNTINGTON — After dispensing with the opening jitters, Marshall and quarterback Chase Litton were bad, bad news Saturday for the Morgan State Bears.
Litton went 13 of 16 for 309 yards and six touchdowns as the Thundering Herd took a 49-0 halftime lead. With Litton resting and almost everybody who dressed playing, the final score was 62-0.
The halftime margin was the highest since the Herd ran up a 52-0 lead on Buffalo in 2002, and the mismatch looked as ugly as it reads.
Not only did Litton riddle the Bears’ secondary, the defense rose up with one big play after another.
