BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The WKU women’s basketball team used a 22-6 run late in the second quarter to open a lead on the Herd that Marshall could not close in the Hilltoppers’ 73-57 victory on Saturday afternoon at EA Diddle Arena. The win improved the Lady Toppers to 14-5 overall and 6-1 in Conference USA, tied for first.
Marshall fell to 11-7 and below .500 for the first time this year at 3-4 and now tied with four teams for sixth in C-USA. The Herd lost for the seventh time in eight games against WKU, upsetting the ‘Toppers in last year’s C-USA Tournament in Birmingham, Ala.
