HUNTINGTON — James Kelly scored 27 points Austin Loop had 26 points on eight 3-point goals as Marshall bombarded Eastern Kentucky 96-72 Saturday night at Cam Henderson Center.
The Thundering Herd (2-6) won its second game in a row, this one a no-doubter in an entertaining contest. Neither team shied away from running and launching deep shots.
Loop took full advantage, hitting 8 of 10 from 3-point range, as the Herd hit 15 of 32. His three quick bombs at the end of the first half gave the Herd a 48-38 halftime lead.
The Herd then scored the first eight points of the second half, punctuated by a Kelly three-point play.
