It’s a football-oriented proverb, but it applies to Marshall’s basketball team: Don’t let a big loss beat you twice.
Since the calendar flipped to 2016 and the Thundering Herd entered Conference USA play, that hasn’t been a big problem. Only once has the Herd lost two in a row in that time.
But in that instance, the Herd lost to league leader Alabama-Birmingham. And in that instance, a difficult assignment loomed — the long trip to Texas-El Paso. The Herd lost to the Miners 112-108.
Again, the Herd (15-13 overall, 11-4 C-USA) is trying to a put another loss to UAB behind.
