Herd “Hits” Field, Each Other on First Day of Full Pads

HUNTINGTON – With the temps reaching into the upper 80s and even low 90s by the time Marshall football finished its first day of full pads – with the defense having its way much of the day against the Herd offense. With the humidity high, the offensive unit could not match the intensity of the white-clad defenders … with one or two exceptions.

In field goal kicking, Amoreto Curraj hit 5-for-5 before the day really got started, including a long of 52-yards. Nick Smith was 4-for-4 with makes, like Curraj, from 28, 33 37 and 40 yards but freshman Grayson Pontius making just 3-of-4 today, missing wide left from 37-yards.
