DENTON, Texas – Marshall softball pulled out a seventh inning, two-out win to open the Conference USA Tournament on Friday, but in the nightcap the Herd didn’t have the comeback magic after coming back early to take a 3-2 lead as they fell to Louisiana Tech, 6-3, at North Texas’ Lovelace Stadium.
“Just like the season you have your ups and downs, and today was the highest of highs and then the lowest of lows,” Marshall Head Coach Shonda Stanton said. “In game one I felt it was a great defensive battle and Dixon was clutch for us in the circle.
