The Thundering Herd of Marshall has not won a game on the road all season but, for the last game before Christmas, the green-clad Herd tried its best to be “The Grinch” to the nationally ranked Cincinnati Bearcats. But it was the height of the Bearcats out-rebounding MU 43-37 and their senior guard Troy Caupain, a player on the Naismith Men’s Player of the Year and Lute Olson National Player of the Year watch lists, hit a follow shot with .7 seconds left that gave the University of Cincinnati a stirring come-from-behind 93-91 overtime victory over the Herd on Thursday night before 10,540 fans — the largest crowd of the season at Fifth Third Arena.
