HUNTINGTON — As part of the memorial weekend at Marshall — remembering the 75 persons lost in 1970 when the Herd football airline charter crashed on the evening of Nov. 14 — the Marshall basketball team wore its black uniforms, as the football team would do later in the day.
Coach Danny D’Antoni was a friend and classmate with many of the persons lost that dark day in Marshall history. His team rewarded its coach with a season-opening win in the Cam Henderson Center for a noon start in a 81-69 win over North Carolina Central University.
