Herd Baseball Falls To Ohio, 4-1

HUNTINGTON – The Marshall baseball team met a long-time rival in the Ohio University Bobcats today at George M. Smailes Field at the YMCA Kennedy Center on Route 2 just north of Huntington, moving an April date for the rivalry to a 78-degree, sunny skies and perfect baseball weather day.

Unfortunately, the Herd came up on the wrong side of a 4-1 loss. The loss, the first at home for Marshall after sweeping Lehigh at the Kennedy Center last weekend, drops the Herd to 4-6 on the season while the Bobcats improve to 5-7. Ohio leads the all-time series with Marshall, 161 games strong, and the Bobcats have a big lead in those games with a 114-46-1 mark in a rivalry that began in 1912 with the ‘Cats sweeping a pair.
