HUNTINGTON — For the most part, Saturday’s Green and White Game is not to show off Marshall’s veteran players.
“We’ve got several guys we’re not going to see a whole lot of because we knew what they can do,” said Thundering Herd coach Doc Holliday. “[Clint] Van Horn’s been around here longer than spring games have been in existence.”
Ah, yes. As the sixth-year senior, Van Horn inherits the “old” jokes.
There aren’t many other vets, though.
Of those participating this spring, only eight are seniors who are entering their fourth or fifth seasons in the program: Van Horn, wide receiver Justin Hunt, safety Tiquan Lang, special teams standout Cody Carter, guard Michael Selby, defensive end Gary Thompson, offensive lineman Ryan Riedel, defensive tackle Joe Massaquoi and wide receiver Josh Knight.
