Former MU Pitcher Dan Straily 6-0 Since All-Star Break For Cincinnati Reds

Former Marshall University pitcher Dan Straily is having a monster season for the Cincinnati Reds, and improved to 6-0 last night with a win over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night, 3-0. Straily, who pitched for the Herd in 2008-09 and helped the team to a runner-up finish in the Conference USA Tournament and 30-30-1 record overall in the ’08 season, went six innings with three singles as the only hits allowed, two walks and five strikeouts.

He is now 10-6 on the season, but is a perfect 6-0 since the All-Star break. He has a 1.98 ERA since the July mid-season pause, and the Reds have won all eight of his second half starts to go 22-14 since then.
